Academics
Mathematics
I started training for math competitions in primary school. I study on my own and meet with a coach regularly. What I enjoy about math is that a problem can have more than one way in: first I sort out what I know, then I try a path, and if I get stuck, I look at it from another angle. I ranked in the top 1% nationally in the 2024 AMC 8 and in the top 5% in the 2026 AMC 10. I think of those results as snapshots along the way, and they’ve encouraged me to keep taking on harder problems.
Biology
After monthly assessments at school, I was selected for the biology competition class. By the end of Grade 8, I had completed the standard Grade 10 and Grade 11 biology coursework. Cell biology, genetics, physiology, and ecology have shown me how many small parts connect inside living systems. What interests me is seeing how processes at the cellular level connect to the way an entire organism works.
